Disaster Recovery as-a-Service
As with all 5W services, comprehensive implementation and management of the service is provided by 5W. Access to the service is similarly provided by web browser, email and telephone. The Cloud Recovery service also has a straightforward set of requests:
- Add or remove systems in Recovery.
- Activate Recovery systems.
- Receive an up-to-date activity report for the service.
- Receive an up-to-date billing report for the service.
Disaster is a big word. In reality there are many events that require a “Disaster Recovery” response, and they are usually quite small (like a water leak in the wrong place at the wrong time). Any event that damages the IT systems supporting business processes can present a major issue for any company. The Cloud Recovery service starts a copy of those IT systems in an alternative location and provides your company’s staff access to those IT systems.
During the implementation of the service the initial IT systems to be provided in Recovery are selected. Copies of those systems and the data they contain are created in our data centre and tested to ensure they work correctly, including the access for your company’s staff. The service also provides an annual test so you can have confidence that the Recovery systems will work when you need them.
